Account Management Support Assistant

A fast-growing, privately held company specializing in cost reduction services for businesses is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated individual to join its Account Management team. The organization helps companies across the U.S. save money on waste and recycling services, an often-overlooked expense. As part of a small and collaborative team, this role offers exposure to various aspects of client service, operations, and vendor management.

Position Overview:
This full-time position (40 hours/week) supports the Account Management team by handling a mix of administrative, analytical, and customer service tasks. Responsibilities range from data entry and contract management to client communications and vendor negotiations. The role also includes project-based work as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter and update client data and notes in the CRM system

  • Collect client waste service invoices from portals or via phone

  • Analyze client data and prepare it for cost analysis

  • Verify existing waste services and gather relevant information from service providers

  • Track contract expiration dates and issue cancellation notices

  • Assist with recommendations to optimize client waste costs

  • Negotiate pricing and service terms with vendors

  • Present and implement approved service adjustments on behalf of clients

  • Prepare and maintain client billing spreadsheets

  • Occasionally perform on-site surveys (rare)

  • Address billing discrepancies and service issues

  • Respond to client inquiries related to pickups, service changes, and new locations

  • Proactively follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and address concerns

  • Identify new savings opportunities for current clients

  • Provide general support across the Account Management team

  • Contribute to special projects and general business operations as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

  • 3+ years of general business experience

  • Experience in client services, account management, or administrative support roles is a plus

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Strong general computer skills

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to work extended hours occasionally as needed

  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Flexible to work in-office and remotely as required (mostly in-office)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000, depending on experience and performance

  • Partial health insurance reimbursement (if eligible)

  • Company-provided laptop

  • 401(k) plan with company match after one year

  • Paid vacation and sick leave

  • Occasional flexibility to work from home

Training & Growth Opportunities:

  • One-on-one onboarding and mentoring with senior team members

  • Ongoing, in-depth training

  • Opportunities for advancement into leadership roles in a growing organization

Candidates with prior experience in the waste services industry are encouraged to apply. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow within a dynamic, mission-driven team focused on delivering measurable value to clients.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
