Account Management Support Assistant
A fast-growing, privately held company specializing in cost reduction services for businesses is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated individual to join its Account Management team. The organization helps companies across the U.S. save money on waste and recycling services, an often-overlooked expense. As part of a small and collaborative team, this role offers exposure to various aspects of client service, operations, and vendor management.
Position Overview:
This full-time position (40 hours/week) supports the Account Management team by handling a mix of administrative, analytical, and customer service tasks. Responsibilities range from data entry and contract management to client communications and vendor negotiations. The role also includes project-based work as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter and update client data and notes in the CRM system
Collect client waste service invoices from portals or via phone
Analyze client data and prepare it for cost analysis
Verify existing waste services and gather relevant information from service providers
Track contract expiration dates and issue cancellation notices
Assist with recommendations to optimize client waste costs
Negotiate pricing and service terms with vendors
Present and implement approved service adjustments on behalf of clients
Prepare and maintain client billing spreadsheets
Occasionally perform on-site surveys (rare)
Address billing discrepancies and service issues
Respond to client inquiries related to pickups, service changes, and new locations
Proactively follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and address concerns
Identify new savings opportunities for current clients
Provide general support across the Account Management team
Contribute to special projects and general business operations as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
3+ years of general business experience
Experience in client services, account management, or administrative support roles is a plus
Strong negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal)
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong general computer skills
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work extended hours occasionally as needed
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Flexible to work in-office and remotely as required (mostly in-office)
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000, depending on experience and performance
