Job Summary This is an Internal Employment Opportunity The School of Nutrition and Public Health within the College of Health is seeking a Dietetics Internship Coordinator. This is a part-time (0.50 FTE), 9-month, professional faculty position. This position provides professional field oversight to graduate students and post baccalaureate dietetic interns who are fulfilling their required supervised practice experience in clinical, community, and foodservice settings required for credentialing through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). The incumbent will coordinate with the Director of the Master of Science in Nutrition (Professional Dietetics option) and support the Oregon State University Dietetic Internship (OSUDI) Director in the training, observation, and supervision of dietetic student activities on campus and in the field. The incumbent will assist in the coordination of program rotation sites, scheduling and interaction with preceptors, and in program management. This position is located in Corvallis, Oregon; however, work is performed regularly in various medical facilities located throughout the Willamette Valley, including Corvallis, Albany, Salem, and Portland. Some work may be performed remotely. In addition to the academic year of September 16 to June 15, this position may also be assigned to a summer appointment to complete required tasks. Why OSU? Key Responsibilities 95% - Coordination of Dietetics Internship: 5%-Other Duties as Assigned What You Will Need Master's degree in Nutrition or closely related field. Registered Dietitian or eligibility to take the Registered Dietitian exam. Experience as an intern or a dietitian in the past 3 years. Experience as a dietitian or dietetic intern in a clinical setting. Experience supervising or mentoring students. Familiarity with the nutrition care process. Clear potential for effectiveness in dietetics program leadership. Experience leading, coordinating, and organizing. Demonstrated ability to communicate, including facility with technology-based tools for communication and education. Must meet clearance requirements of non-OSU facilities, including health and retail organizations where work is performed. Evident commitment to educational equity. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months. This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030. What We Would Like You to Have Experience as a dietitian or dietetic intern in a clinical setting in the past 3 years. Experience supervising students or dietetic interns in the past 3 years. Experience in community based preventive care, including assessment and counseling, in the past 3 years. Experience in food service management in the past 3 years. Experience working with the OSUDI internship sites, either as a preceptor or intern. Familiarity with the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) competencies for dietetic internship programs. Experience teaching at the community college or university level. Working Conditions / Work Schedule Travel is required to complete work at various clinics/hospitals in Corvallis, Albany, Salem, and Portland. Personal vehicle will be used for travel with reimbursement to the incumbent at the current mileage rate. In order to complete an 8-hour shift with students, hours worked will often exceed 8 hours a day.
